Point Cabrillo light station

A wickie is a lighthouse keeper. The nickname originates in the days where the keepers duty included triming the wicks of the oil lamp that illuminated the lens. A head keeper and two assistants worked rotating shifts to keep the light burning and the compressor powered for the fog signal. When you walk into the Cabrillo point lighthouse a board telling you the story of the place and the people that have lived here is ending by asking you "what is your point". Still don't know what is my point but I like to think that the 3 of us, have been hired these 6 months as wickies, traveling around the world working to turn the light on and see for a while over the fog.
